Training Overview PDF Print

One of the core benefits that the IWCM offers to its membership is its Training and Certification Program.  This program is intended to enable warranty professionals to undertake high quality training in a broad spectrum of warranty subjects, with a curriculum that addresses training needs from multiple industries, for individuals of varying levels of experience.  Training modules may be taken as stand-alone courses, or as a structured set of modules as part of the Warranty Management Professional Certification Program (CWCMP).

The purpose of the IWCM Training and Certification Programs is to:

  • Develop and deliver a world-class integrated curriculum that enables growth and recognition of warranty professionals.
  • Establish a curriculum and certification program that assures a strong understanding of the end-to-end warranty process and practices across the entire warranty chain.
  • Establish an advanced curriculum and certification program that allows a warranty professional to become a recognized master in specific areas of the warranty discipline.
  • Enable warranty professionals to approach perspective employers with recognized warranty credentials.
  • Support the mission of the Institute to promote and advance warranty management as a recognized profession.

Process Used for Course Development

Each Course in our curriculum is developed by a focused working group of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) usually lead by a working group chair.  Once established, each working group typically works for about 4-8 months to develop and complete the course material.

Planned Course Delivery and Venue

The course modules are being developed for three primary delivery venues:

  • The traditional classroom venue (the initial venue for all courses).
  • The Webinar venue (for world wide deployment).
  • On-site training for corporations (with options for customization).

Initially, all courses will be offered in a classroom setting.
